Junior Robotics Engineer

Location - Location: Wheathampstead  / St.Albans

Robot Center Ltd are currently on the lookout for Junior Robotics Engineer to join a small Mobile Robotics team,  based in Wheathampstead.

Ideally, you have a natural curiosity, strong analytical skills, strong mechanical & electronic designer/engineer skills, and a desire to further expand your skills within a career in robotics. You should also have strong analytical skills.


Desirable Skills:

  • Electronics design, manufacture and debugging skills

  • Good knowledge of mechanical manufacturing techniques and systems

  • CAD software knowledge (Altium or Solidworks is a bonus)

  • Ability to research and analyse ideas

  • Experience working on Robotics Projects

  • Knowledge of Robot Operating Systems (ROS)

  • Technology innovation and exploitation of opportunities.

  • Mentoring junior technologists and engineers.

  • Develop product specifications and requirements.

  • Product analysis, control algorithms, support & documentation.

  • Programming for microcontrollers


The other skills and experience we'd like to see in an engineer (even if it's within your training/education only) are as follows:

  • Degree level education or equivalent.

  • Consumer / commercial hardware product design and development experience.

  • Knowledge of SLAM or V-SLAM or similar.

  • Proficient in C; C

  • An understanding of core robotics concepts and technologies.

  • Demonstrable experience in leadership & Innovation.

  • Strong embedded firmware and/or HDL skills


Training will be provided on the job so applicants should have a willingness to learn and a strong drive to improve their skills.
